Most students would benefit from taking the SAT at least twice, starting in Junior year. Sophomores at Bayonne High School take the PSAT 10 in order to get a clearer picture of what it will be like to sit for the real SAT and find out what their preliminary score might be. The SAT now consists of Evidence Based Reading and Writing and Math with an optional essay. In fact, College Board now speaks of the "SAT Suite of Assessment" which refers to three integrated tests: In March 2016, the College Board debuted the newly redesigned SAT. They have overseen the creation of computer based assessments for grades 3-11. The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers is an organized assembly of states which has come together in order to develop a set of assessments that measure student aptitude and readiness for future college and careers. Furthermore, AP students take AP exams in their applicable field of study. High school students take PSAT and SAT exams for college entrance. In addition to teacher created assessments, students also participate in District Assessments each marking period as well as the PARCC English Language Arts/Literacy Assessments in grades 3-11. Throughout grades K-12, assessment of Language Arts skills is paramount.
